Adelaide Architect, Architectus, specified the supply and installation of an acoustically sound operable wall to separate Allianze’s multi-purpose training room area from its breakout/kitchen area as part of a new Allianz office fitout at Festival Tower in the Adelaide CBD.
Renowned builder, Shape Australia, selected Bildspec to supply for this purpose, their Series 100 Rw52 centre-stacking operable wall with bottom retracting seals. The wall is elegantly cladded in Maharam Tek Wall Riddle.
Operable walls are often used to create a flexible work environment, allowing for either small, private spaces to work when needed, or larger spaces to collaborate and socialise with their colleagues. One space can be turned into multiple, smaller spaces, whether it is turning a large open plan area into a series of meeting rooms, or sectioning off rest, eat or play areas away from the busy working environment. Operable walls allow a limited transfer of sound from the external office into the smaller individual space.
