Scope of works
The new Jabiru Health Centre officially opened in September 2024, with primary health services delivered by Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (ACCHO), Red Lily Health Board Aboriginal Corporation (Red Lily). This new $20 million purpose-built health centre will increase access to a wide range of medical services in the West Arnhem region. As the main health provider in Kakadu National Park, the health centre will serve both residents and tourists. To address curing of the concrete, and concerns with residual moisture content and potential bacterial contamination within the new concrete subfloor, X260 Medi-Vet was specified and applied to the substrate at time of the concrete pour, and eliminates the need to apply membrane curing compounds and the costly and time-consuming process re quired to remove them whilst allowing for reduced preparation and providing a substrate compatible for the installation of topically applied flooring systems. The application of X260 Medi-Vet™ into the concrete subfloor will permanently waterproof concrete from any direction, making the concrete impermeable, increasing the longevity and integrity of the applied floor finishes by means of an internal moisture barrier, whilst providing antimicrobial protection of the concrete subfloor from contamination that may arise from spills within the operational environment of the health clinic.
