The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) is a national, charitable, health organisation delivering primary healthcare and 24-hour emergency services for those that live in rural and remote Australia.
Bildspec have installed 3 operable walls to the main meeting areas at RFDS’s Sydney Head Office. This includes one Series100 Rw49-rated solid, and two Konnect double-glazed moveable acoustic walls, all with bottom mechanical retracting seals.
These three movable acoustic walls have been designed by builder/designer PMG Group, as an intersecting wall system to give the clients the ability to have two medium sized boardrooms, or one large boardroom, or a combined presentation space including the adjacent lounge area (once all walls have been retracted and fully opened). An acoustic rating of Rw49 was chosen to give the RFDS the required privacy required for these rooms.
Moveable acoustic walls assist in the creation of spaces which are adaptable and functional. Bildspec’s operable walls are often utilised to allow clients greater flexibility with their office spaces, through the creation of meeting rooms, board rooms, breakout rooms and multipurpose break out spaces. These movable acoustic walls offer each application varying acoustic properties, which are not only fit for purpose but also highly attractive and user friendly.
